Clinical Supervision at Luminare Psychotherapy
Where your growth as a clinician is taken as seriously as your hours.
What does supervision look like at Luminare?
First things first, congratulations! You've completed your coursework, earned your degree, and now, you're taking the next big step toward becoming a well-rounded Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Completing your clinical hours is an important and formative process in your journey toward earning the big "C", and my job as your supervisor is to guide you through that process. So, let's talk about what that means.
Who you are as a person matters just as much as who you are becoming as a clinician. That means our work together will be shaped around you: your background, your strengths, your questions, your interests, and your instincts. We might revisit moments from your sessions together and slow them down, exploring what you were feeling in real time. We'll pay attention to which reactions show up in supervision meetings, because they are often reflections of what's happening in your clinical work. We'll talk about the way your educational and personal background may shape the way you interact with clients, and so much more.
I believe the best supervision balances structure and boundaries with flexibility and room for growth. I expect you to engage with populations and modalities you are most interested in, but also be open to stepping out of your comfort zone every now and then. I expect that you will make mistakes, even when you are doing your best, that you will learn from them, and that you will grow as a social worker because of them. Above all, I expect you to show up, for your clients, for this process, and for yourself, as I will show up and hold a safe space for you.
So, with all of that said, if you are looking for a supervisor, and something here resonated, please reach out to me via phone or email and let's set up a time to talk further!
